Meet Tina
I've been fascinated by the human body for most of my life.
As a child, I wanted to be a doctor. I loved science, I loved helping people, and I was captivated by the complexity of the human body. But the practice of modern medicine never quite resonated with me, and I was told I was too tender-hearted for that world. So I found other ways to serve—first as a teacher, and later in management consulting.
My curiosity about the body never left me.

My Story
It started early as a competitive swimmer. Even as a young girl, I noticed how food, sleep, and visualization affected how I felt and performed. I paid greater attention than most to the connection between our daily choices and what our bodies can do.
In my twenties and thirties, jobs and family held my focus. Then, in my late forties, my own body began reminding me to pay attention.
I developed a collection of symptoms—deep fatigue, joint stiffness and eventually an acute eye issue—while my physical checkups continued to look "perfect."
I knew something wasn't right.

A chance encounter with an old friend led me to a functional practitioner who looked at my health in a completely different way. For the first time, I was given a framework for understanding what might be happening inside my body and practical ways I could participate in my own healing. And the results were pretty profound.
I was hooked.

What followed was what I call my age of reckless research. I went down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, trying to understand the body, health and the many ways our everyday choices affect both.
And then I found the work of Andrea Nakayama, thought leader in Functional Nutrition. I spent several years studying under Andrea…
-
diving deep into anatomy/physiology and the interconnectedness of the body's systems
-
practicing with the systems and tools she developed for thinking through what is happening in the body and why, and
-
learning how to recognize and honor the whole story of the person in front of me.
And I finally found the kind of health care that felt like home.

Today, I bring together what I've learned through my studies, my professional experience and my own health journey to help other women understand their bodies and become more confident participants in their health.
I'm especially grateful that my own struggles led me here. They changed the questions I ask, the way I listen, and the kind of guide I want to be.
My hope is simple: to help women feel less overwhelmed, more informed, and better equipped to take charge of their own health—and to make the journey a little lighter by walking it together.
